Zimbabwe Land and Agrarian Network successfully hosted the Women’s Land Rights, Market Linkages and Value Addition Training in Chikomba on 23 July 2026. For women to fully participate in agricultural marketing and value addition, they must have access, control, and ownership of land, as well as a voice in production decisions. In Zimbabwe, women make up about 60% of smallholder farmers and are central to household food security. During the training, ZiLAN equipped farmers with knowledge on statutory and constitutional provisions on women’s land rights, alongside practical skills in market systems, financial literacy, packaging, storage and reducing post-harvest losses. Special thanks to Mr Ivan Craig (Mudhumeni Mukuru) and Zimbabwe Farmers’ Union (ZFU) for facilitating and guiding farmers through these sessions. Farmers also shared experiences and innovative approaches in horticultural production and marketing, strengthening their capacity to connect with local, traditional and international markets.
