The Zimbabwe Land and Agrarian Network (ZiLAN), in collaboration with the Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA) and Agricultural and Rural Development Advisory Services (ARDAS), conducted a market linkages training for Village Business Unit (VBU) leaders in Zvimba on 30 April 2026. Attended by 30 participants, the training focused on strengthening farmers’ capacity in market‑led production, crop planning, and financial inclusion. Facilitators emphasized the importance of identifying reliable buyers before planting, diversifying crops, and using production calendars to align harvests with demand. Discussions highlighted challenges such as market flooding, exploitative middlemen, water shortages, and youth disengagement, while solutions included collective bargaining, group constitutions, and formal registration with AMA. Farmers also learned about affordable financing options, asset leasing, and insurance services. The training concluded with commitments to host feedback meetings, strengthen VBUs, and organize exchange visits, laying a foundation for profitable, market‑driven agriculture that enhances food security and empowers communities in Zvimba.
